What’s it like to be an online student at Widener University? In many ways, it’s much like being a student on campus. You will read course materials, ask questions, and manage your time to complete assignments. Widener University is committed to your continued education and career advancement. We engage students in a unique, experiential curriculum. Hands-on learning, service, and career preparation are at the core of every academic program. Our online programs give you the knowledge and skills to ensure that your voice and influence are seen, heard, and known in your organization and community.
Your Support
Taking your program online doesn't mean you'll be alone. At Widener, from the moment you request information, you will be connected with a program manager who will be there to answer any questions you may have about earning a degree and to receive support during the application process. Once you have completed your first week of class, your program manager will introduce you to your personal student services coordinator (SSC). You will also have access to a 24/7 help desk for technical issues, financial aid advisors, and a career services department. If you are able, you are welcome to take advantage of campus events, as well.
Your New Student Orientation
You don't have to come with previous online experience to be successful in Widener's program—we've got you covered. About four weeks before your first day of class, you will receive access to your New Student Orientation. This is a practice class that allows you to get comfortable navigating our online system, learn how assignments are completed and submitted and get a feel for what your classes will look like.
